The ML-09 took most of this year to upgrade. This is because of the tremendous chore of combining the Pulse and Wits programs along with adding many of the features our customers have requested. We did this while speeding up the program tremendously.
NEW FEATURES AND ENHANCEMENTS
WITS
Wits is now extremely user friendly, and all of its features are fully documented in our newly revised operating manual. The need to receive ‘average ROP’ has been eliminated. No more calling the EDR tech out to the well for that! Your depth can now be independent from the EDR’s depth. You can choose “minutes per foot” or “feet per hour” independent from the EDR.
SETTING UP
Setting up your connection is much easier. There is a terminal emulator built right into the ML-09 software. With a simple click of a button you can view your raw WITS data while it is streaming. You can even pause this data if you want to examine it more closely.
AUTO ZERO
The chromatograph and gas detector now comes with an auto zero function. You simply enter your desired baseline in numerical form, and click a button. Geospect zeros to your predefined baseline. The chromatograph let’s you auto zero after so many user-defined seconds during a particular cycle. You can actually have the chromatograph zero itself after each chromatogram.
WITS WITH PULSE
As requested by many of our customers, you can now receive a pulse; and send gas using WITS at the same time. You probably wouldn’t want to do this because the new WITS features are so versatile, you'll probably just want to use WITS.
TESTED
We simulated a 165,000 foot well (fast drilling), over a period of a week (fast drilling I know) with no shut-downs or problems.
NEWLY REVISED MANUAL
The manual completely covers topics like, “Quickly Finding Your Computers Com Port.” and goes into great detail explaining the new Geospect features so you should experience a dramatic reduction in service calls.
NEW FORUM
Feel free to encourage your mud logging staff to use our new forum to find answers, and post questions. We believe the forum will quickly expand to provide a valuable knowledgebase to our customers and their employees.
METRIC COMING SOON
We will soon add metric capabilities to the ML-09. This comes at the request of our international customers.
LICENSING
Our new software comes with a one-year license which can be renewed via telephone. As long as you are a licensed user for ML-09 or above, you will receive upgrades to the ML-09 software at no additional charge.
