If you have an old gas detector laying around, you may not want to toss it. Geospect can connect to most mudlogging gas detectors through a Geospect DAQ portal. It supports CC, TC, and IR detectors. You will need a computer with a nine-pin serial connector, and a null-modem cable to send and receive WITS. If you do not wish to use WITS, there are terminals on the side of the DAQ portal that allow you to connect standard pulse (switch closure)type sensors to the system. You can connect a microswitch, depth wheel, "donut", up to three pump stroke counters, and an on-off bottom switch to these terminals.

Note: You will need one gigabyte of ram in your Windows XP computer, or 2GB ram in your Windows Vista computer.

Note: You should have a desktop computer unless your notebook comes with a nine pin serial connector. USB to serial adapters do not work properly.
