Some oil companies are now REQUIRING that mudlogging companies send gas to the rig EDR so that it can be viewed on locations around the rig. Geospect's new "Just Gas" system allows you to do just that. You simply connect the "Just Gas" DAQ Portal to the voltage output signal on your gas detector, set up communications with the rig's EDR, and you are up and running. You will need a computer with Windows XP or above with a nine pin serial connector, and a null modem cable. This system supports most CC and/or TC hotwire type gas detectors, as well as, most infrared detectors.
Note: You will need one gigabyte of ram in your Windows XP computer, or 2GB ram in your Windows Vista computer.
Note: You should have a desktop computer unless your notebook comes with a nine pin serial connector. USB to serial adapters do not work properly.
